Upon completion of the online portion of BASICS.fst®, the successful completion of a proctored classroom-style test is required to receive the course certificate/wallet card. You must complete the online portion of the course before booking an examination date.

Test consists of 15 true/false and 35 multiple choice. Passing Grade is 74%.

If you fail the test on your first attempt, two additional opportunities to re-write at a cost of $20.00 per attempt. Failure of all three attempts identifies the need to re-register for the entire course.

Proctored In-Class Testing, Times And Locations

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED TO WRITE THE TEST. PLEASE BRING IT WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF YOUR EXAMINATION.

The Nova Scotia Department of Environment will be offering BASIC.fst® test proctoring sessions on the first Tuesday of each month at the following locations:
